Edexcel
Engine Training and Consultancy LLP has recently been accredited with Edexcel status. This enables the professionals at Engine to deliver numerous BTEC national certificate and diploma qualifications, including;
- BTEC level 2 First Certificate in Sport
- BTEC level 2 First Diploma in Sport (Exercise and Fitness)
- BTEC level 2 First Diploma in Sport (Outdoor Education)
- BTEC level 2 First Diploma in Sport (Performance)
- BTEC level 2 First Certificate in Public Services
- BTEC level 2 First Diploma in Public Services
These courses are designed to be both mentally and physically challenging, and allow students to develop both personal and group skills. This is a major milestone for both Engine Training and the centre, as this is the first time since its inception in December 1997 that the centre can be officially regarded as an educational facility as well as an activity base.
The newly established Edexcel status also has major advantages for schools and educational facilities around South Wales, as Engine now has the resources and capability to deliver BTEC qualifications on-site at any of these institutions.
“Overall, Engine’srecent achievements in this area fit perfectly with The Welsh Assembly Government’s 14-19 Learning Pathways agenda. We can now act as a provider for this scheme and play an important role in the transformation of good educational practices across Wales,” says Engine Partner Joanne Sheldon-Evans.
Engine prides itself especially on delivering these qualifications to disengaged pupils. These BTEC diplomas and certificates are equivalent to 2- 4 GCSEs, providing opportunities for higher education, and ultimately, successful futures to disadvantaged individuals who would otherwise have nowhere to turn. |  |
